The City of Mukilteo operates under a Mayor-Council form of government. Mayor Jennifer Gregerson serves as Chief Executive for the city. The Mayor represents the City at public events, guides the overall direction of City staff, and personally oversees long-term planning and financial decision making. She was elected Mayor in 2013.
The Management Services Director serves as the second-in-command to the Mayor and oversees City operations, implements policy direction established by the Mayor and City Council, and manages the daily operations of most City departments. Chris Phillips has served as the Management Services Director since October 2014.
The Executive Department recommends and administers the City's annual budget, executes all City contracts and prepares analyses and reports as needed to help optimize City operations and clarify policy direction. The Executive Department also includes the City Clerk and Human Resources.
