Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS)

The Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS) program provides the Department with the use of volunteers who have particular skills, desires and experience while encouraging police-citizen partnerships consistent with the values and goals of our community policing philosophy.

The volunteers conduct vacation house checks, neighborhood speed watch, specialized language translation services, and assistance with various crime prevention programs.

Volunteers are recruited from the Mukilteo Citizens Police Academy classes.
