Fish Ladder at Mukilteo Lane on Japanese Gulch

As mitigation for work done in Big Gulch, the City has agreed to work with the Mukilteo Water and Sewer District and the County to remove a fish barrier at Mukilteo Lane on Japanese Gulch.  This work will open up the stream for fish up to 5th Street

Phase one: Provide fish passage from the railroad to Mukilteo Lane.  This phase was completed in 2010.

Phase two:Provide fish passage via a fish ladder up to and through the culvert under the Boeing Spur of the railroad.  This phase was completed in 2010.

Phase three:  Redirect the stream from it's current artificial channel near the railroad to it's historic channel, providing more length and improved habitat.  This phase is scheduled to be completed in 2012.

Phase four:  Provide fish passage from the stream to a wetland area near Mukilteo Lane, providing habitat for juvenile fish.  This phase will be completed in 2011.
