City's 2016 Preliminary Budget Now Available

The City of Mukilteo has released its 2016 Preliminary Budget  in advance of Monday's City Council meeting.  The first public hearing of the 2016 budget will begin at approximately 7:30pm (meeting starts at 6:45pm) in Council Chambers at City Hall (11930 Cyrus Way, Mukilteo).  Department Budget PowerPoint presentations are also available for viewing as they become available.

"I am pleased to present my second balanced budget to the City Council," stated Mayor Jennifer Gregerson.  "It builds on my first budget, as we continue to make prudent financial decisions while investing in our community's priorities."

The Mayor's 2016 Preliminary Budget for City Council review takes a break from tax increases and provides funding to build a dedicated senior center space within the Mukilteo Boys and Girls Club's new Shin Center in Harbour Pointe.  Her budget also includes investments in streets, sidewalks, bicycle paths, storm drains, parks and City buildings. She has also included recommendations for business license fee reform that will help local businesses as well as additional investments in public safety, youth substance abuse prevention and support to domestic violence victims.

"The cornerstone of this budget is my vision for Mukilteo: I am committed to ensuring that we are a sustainable, well-run city with safe, strong neighborhoods."
