Community Meeting July 28th - Resident Perspective on Parking in Mukilteo

Date:  July 28, 2015 - 6:00 - 8:00pm

Location:  Rosehill Community Center - Elliott Point Room

The City will be holding a community meeting to meet with residents in Old Town.  Parking in the Downtown Business District and surrounding residential areas has been a much discussed issue by business owners and residents for over 30 years.  In response to issues brought to the City's attention, several on-street parking restrictions have been adopted over the years.  We now have at least six separate parking pass programs in the downtown area intended to provide relief from these restrictions to businesses and residents.

It's time to reconsider how we manage parking in Mukilteo.  As part of the Downtown Paid Parking Pilot Program, city staff will be reporting back to the City Council in October on lessons learned during this trial period.  To better understand all the parking issues, please come to an open "round table" discussion where you will be able to tell staff what your parking needs are and to describe from your point-of-view what you think the parking issues are that need to be addressed.

Parking discussions can be complicated and personal.  If we work together, we may be able to find a better way to manage parking in Downtown Mukilteo.

The meeting will start off with staff providing a brief history of the current on-street parking restrictions, parking programs and parking code requirements.  The meeting will then be open up to allow you to voice your concerns and ideas on how to consolidate, improve upon, or replace the current restrictions and programs.
