Civil Service Commission Vacancy
 
The City of Mukilteo is looking for applicants to fill a vacancy on the Cityís Civil Service Commission.  Applications are now available, and the deadline to apply is 4:30pm January 6, 2016.  Send your application by the deadline by mail to:

Applications will be reviewed by City staff and referred to the Mayor; she will conduct interviews and send her recommendation to the City Council for confirmation.  We anticipate interviews being conducted and confirmation made in January or February 2016.  To be considered for this position, you must be a citizen of the United States, have been a resident of Mukilteo for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment, and an elector of Snohomish County. Previous police or fire department experience is desired, but not required.

The Civil Service Commission was established by Mukilteo Municipal Code 2.62, and is comprised of three commissioners who serve a 6- year term. The Commissionís duties include adoption of rules and regulations for hiring examinations, and appointments, promotions, transfers, reinstatements, demotions, suspensions and discharges of police and fire employees. The Commission also conducts Appeal Hearings or other matters as may be referred to the Commission. The Commissionís regular monthly meeting dates and times will be determined at its next meeting.
